3 Bathers
1971
oil
11 x 15

My first ocean painting was inspired by a copy of an Albert Pinkham Ryder seascape by Jackson Pollock. Teacher Neil Welliver took note of it being different from the usual life studies I had been doing and advised me to look at work by Ryder and Eilshemius.
