About This Web Site

It seems to me that most artists’ web sites are designed for the purpose of presenting finished work for view by potential galleries, buyers, etc. I have taken a different approach. This site provides an overview of everything I’ve done since I began painting.

One reason for this is a personal need to review my life’s work and preserve a documentation of it in an orderly fashion. Beyond that it has a didactic function showing how one artist’s work developed and changed over a period of fifty plus years. I see recurring themes in my work - ocean views, beach views, bathers and underwater subjects developing and changing over a period of years. The development is not so much a straight line as an ever-expanding circle.
